Service and warranty very important when buying infrared cabin

Buying an infrared cabin, huge price differences - what should you look out for?

The price differences between different infrared cabins are huge. But why is this really the case?

This is a question we often come across on the internet. Many people start their search for an infrared cabin after receiving a leaflet from, for example, the DIY store, ‘Action Infrared cabin, now €595’. Of course, this seems like a very good deal until you have this ir cabin at home. Because often the quality of the infrared heaters, the wood and the entire finish of the sauna is far below par. You'll find the opposite at trade fairs, where infrared cabins from the likes of Health mate, Physiotherm or Sunlighten are on display.  Now Action! trade fair model from € 5995 for € 4650.

As you can see, this is an extreme price difference in the various infrared cabins, but what's the difference?
There are a huge number of companies in the Benelux that sell infrared cabins, 80% of these companies are merely dealers of large infrared cabin suppliers and do this as a by-product in order to expand their product range or attract customers. This does not mean that these types of companies sell a bad cabin, only that the salesperson will not be able to give you much information about the cabin and the service afterwards will often be much slower because these types of companies do not have any spare parts in stock.

Cheap budget infrared cabins at a low price, but is it the right choice?

Most budget infrared cabins are mostly made of Hemlock wood of very poor quality. Wood types come in different qualities, you obviously can't tell this from a leaflet. This wood is quickly dried, which means that all the moisture has been removed by machine so that the wood can be processed quickly in the factory.

In addition, there are many knots in this wood, which makes it difficult to process and much less beautiful to look at! Also, the infrared cabin can still shrink and expand a lot after you have installed the cabin, which creates cracks and holes that can warp the cabin.

What infrared emitters are used in the cheap infrared cabin

In most budget models, infrared heaters are used with fewer burning hours, so a budget infrared sauna you bought at a very competitive price can end up being an expensive infrared cabin. Budget models also contain very few emitters. For example, in a 120*105*190cm cabin there are 5 emitters, whereas if you buy a quality infrared cabin there are easily 7 emitters, which ensures better infrared quality in your cabin. Cheap infrared saunas are always equipped with only one type of infrared heater, usually a medium-wave heater. You therefore do not have the option of changing emitters here, which ensures a better therapeutic effect for muscle and joint pains, for example.

The repair and warranty of an infrared cabin is totally different from a mobile phone

Most cheap infrared cabins often come with a standard warranty of 2 years and, exceptionally, a 5-year warranty on the radiators. If you buy a cabin from a DIY store or a webshop, it is often very difficult to obtain replacement parts outside this guarantee period. An infrared cabin lasts much longer than the guarantee period, which is why it is very important that you can count on service at your home even after the standard guarantee period. You cannot simply tear down the ir cabin and go back yourself with a bus or trailer where you bought it to recover your warranty.

What is the difference in price between expensive and cheap infrared cabins?

Now you are naturally curious about companies that sell 2-person infrared cabins at ridiculously high prices which range from €3000 to €5000, such as Health mate, Azento or Sunlighten, for example. These companies advertise a lot on TV and at trade fairs, which costs a lot of money. In addition, these companies often work indirectly, i.e. they sell their cabins through a distributor/dealer network. These distributors are often small independents who also need to have a considerable margin, making the final sales price a lot higher. You as a consumer ultimately pay that back when you buy one of these infrared saunas.

What does a good infrared cabin/sauna supplier have?

  • The possibility of 3 types of radiators in 1 cabin, both long wave (carbon radiators) medium wave (ceramic magnesium oxide radiators) and short wave (full spectrum radiator).
  • The choice of White Cedar wood (Hemlock) and Red Cedar wood.
  • Company with its own delivery and repair service! Because if an infrared cabin breaks down, it will have to be repaired/repaired at your home.
  • Fair prices, are they also listed on the website? Are there any hidden costs? Is home delivery and service free of charge?

Lots of fun in the search for your infrared cabin, it is a very nice product which is easy to use and also requires little maintenance with very many benefits. Especially for people who suffer from muscle and joint pains, it can be very pain relieving.
